It’s also the busiest and most expensive time to charter, particularly around the Christmas and New Year holidays and again during the winter school break in February.
Best for: first-time charter guests who want reliable weather and don’t mind sharing popular anchorages with other boats. Destinations like the British Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are especially busy — and especially beautiful — during this window.
Book early: popular yachts are reserved months in advance for peak season, particularly over the holidays.
May to June: Shoulder Season

July to November: Hurricane Season
This is the Caribbean’s off-season, and for a clear reason — it coincides with the Atlantic hurricane season, which officially runs June through November, peaking in September. Some charter companies relocate their fleets north or to the Mediterranean during this period.
