A sunset cruise is the easiest way to see Cannes at its best. The heat fades, the bay calms down, and the sun goes down behind the Esterel hills while the Croisette lights up.
The route
Most evening cruises leave from Cannes harbour and follow the waterfront past the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals, and the old town of Le Suquet, then pause in the bay for the sunset. If you have more time, your captain can add a short stop near the Lérins Islands. For a longer day on the water, see our Cannes to Lérins Islands itinerary.
When to leave
Plan to board about an hour before sunset, so you catch the golden light and the first lights on shore. Sunset time changes through the year, so confirm it when you book. June to September offers the warmest evenings.
Choosing the yacht
- A couple or a small group: a motor yacht such as the Azimut Atlantis 48 is fast and stylish.
- Friends or family: a catamaran such as the Bali 4.2 gives you wide, shaded decks and room to move.
Tips
- Book early for summer weekends, because sunset slots go first.
- Bring a light layer, since the breeze picks up once the sun goes down.
- Tell the crew if it’s a special occasion so they can plan the timing.
Our crewed charters include a professional crew, so you can simply enjoy the evening. See all options on our yacht rental in Cannes page.
